When it comes to the humble business lunch, there’s one place in Dubai where the competition is most fierce. DIFC has more than a few high-end lunch options, including Italian stalwart Roberto’s
Many of the restaurants in and around Dubai’s bustling International Financial District are dab hands when it comes to a business lunch. Far more than a quick soup or a sandwich, these venues offer full three courses at rock-bottom prices, with excellent service to boot. The best of the best will have punters in and out within the hour, and that’s including a double espresso post meal.
The likes of Gaucho, Zuma and Caramel excel at this and are all a stone’s throw away from Roberto’s, one of Dubai’s signature Italian restaurants. But how does its menu of simple, classic Italian dishes – meant to be savoured and enjoyed – translate into something as clinical as a lunch menu? Quite well, actually.
Roberto’s offers a small selection of starters, mains and a single dessert. Like the dinner menu, expect classic dishes, but this time portioned-to-perfection – no one likes too large a lunch. Think burrata, bresaola and salmon tartar to start, followed by simple pasta dishes and a generous number of seafood options.
Food is uncomplicated and delicious and designed to leave the kitchen at speed. Diners can most certainly walk out the door in just under an hour. And for those wishing to make their lunch last in true Italian laid-back style, there’s an inviting lounge area right next to the bar.
