The business lunch: Pier Chic
The business lunch: Pier Chic

Reserved for clients you don’t mind spending time with (or dare say, enjoy), Pier Chic’s lunchtime offerings provide stunning views, delectable food and high-end service. But you can forget getting in and out within the customary single hour.

The restaurant is perched on the edge of a pier that juts out into the Arabian Gulf. What it does provide is an excellent view of the Burj Al Arab, either through the large French windows of the restaurant or on the terrace.

However, that does mean travelling through the maze of walkways that make up Jumeirah’s Al Qasr hotel to get there. Golf buggies will happily ferry guests to and from the restaurant – providing ample time to admire the hotel’s gardens and canal – but this takes additional minutes. Those looking to do some business over a quick bite should look elsewhere.

The aptly-named ‘Destination Lunch’ was designed to be savoured and enjoyed, and is far better suited to those happy to take a few hours at mid-day. The three-course menu is impressive and high-end, boasting some of the best seafood in the city.

Service is knowledgeable and prompt without being overbearing. It’s a touch more pricey than the average business lunch in the city, but if you have the time to spare then it’s well worth it. There’s nothing average about Pier Chic.
