The barbers at 1847 have been primping and preening back stubborn stubble since the brand first opened shop here in 2001. Aimed at the busy man-about-town, 1847 now boasts five locations around Dubai, with each offering an array of services from simple shaves to reflexology and Thai massage.
Each location can be widely recognised (or not, as it were) by its massive black façade – devoid of any branding bar a simple metal button – which, when pushed, slides open to reveal the barbershop within.

While most customers aim to get in and get out as quickly as possible, 1847 now caters for the man with some extra time on his hands. The newly-opened VIP Room is dubbed a ‘grooming oasis’, letting guests treat themselves to everything that 1847 has to offer, in total privacy.
The dedicated area located in Jumeirah Emirates Towers comes fully-equipped with leather armchairs for manicures and pedicures, a massage table and power showers, as well as a barber chair for wet shaves. You get access to the full treatment menu including a variety of facials and vitamin oil treatments, as well as massages.
For entertainment, guests can pick something from the built-in library, or kick back next to the widescreen television with Apple TV.
