The Swatch Group has announced a new president for Omega watches, following Stephen Urquhart’s decision to retire in June. Mr. Urquhart (69) will continue to work closely with Omega as a consultant on special projects.
The decision to retire comes at a busy time for Omega. It just released its latest line of watches for 2016 at the Baselworld watch fair. It is also only a few months away from the Summer Olympics in Rio, of which Omega is a major sponsor.
Replacing him as president will be Raynald Aeschlimann, who has been a member of the Extended Group Management Board at Swatch since 2013. He is currently Vice President and International Director of Sales at Omega.
