This limited edition wristwatch is dedicated to the Shelby Cobra, one of the most iconic cars ever produced
Last year Baume & Mercier surprised the horological world by announcing its partnership with Carroll Shelby Licensing in Las Vegas. The Cobra Collection was a success, capturing some of that token American muscle-car cool and putting it inside one of the brand’s capable chronographs.
This is the Shelby Cobra 1963 limited edition, a deft blend of Shelby confidence and endurance, alongside Baume & Mercier’s watchmaking prowess. It celebrates the Shelby Cobra 289 Sebring – one of the more legendary Cobras in history.
The Sebring was the first car born in Caroll Shelby’s Venice factory. Driven by racers of the time, the Sebring made history in 1965, when it won the FIA Internationals Championship of GT Manufacturers.
The watch is powered by a Swiss-made self-winding calibre Valjoux 7753 movement, complete with chronograph and a tachymeter for measuring speed.
