Catch high-octane action from the shores of Jeddah as the world’s first electric powerboat championship returns for a second season at Abhur Beach on Friday January 24 and Saturday January 25.
The UIM E1 World Championship Presented by PIF will bring together top electric boat racers worldwide, competing for the crown in an electrifying display of speed, innovation and sustainability on the Red Sea. Over two days, you’ll catch all the action – practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and high-stakes knockout races – all from prime viewing spots on land.
The E1 Series is the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing championship, dedicated to promoting sustainability and marine conservation.
The star of the show is the RaceBird – a sleek, all-electric hydrofoil boat purpose-built for the UIM E1 Championship, which can reach speeds of up to 50 knots (93 km/h), with zero emissions per the organiser. Its hydrofoil design allows it to glide above the water, reducing drag and creating that signature ‘flying’ effect.
Nine teams compete in the championship, some owned by celebs like NFL legend Tom Brady, actor Will Smith and tennis champ Rafael Nadal.
The inaugural UIM E1 World Championship was a five-race series which kicked off in Jeddah. The finale took place on Italy’s Lake Como with Team Tom Brady taking home the crown beating out Will Smith’s Westbrook Racing and Marc Anthony’s Team Miami.
The Season Two opener is happening this weekend in Jeddah, with the qualifying race taking place on Friday January 24, followed by the title showdown on Saturday January 25.
