Gault&Millau UAE, the esteemed culinary guide, recently hosted an extravagant gala where 12 prestigious awards were presented to the crème de la crème of the UAE’s gastronomy scene.
The event, attended by 200 renowned chefs, sommeliers, restaurateurs, and industry leaders, showcased the country’s remarkable surge in creativity and innovation.
The evening began with an address from Ali Akawi, the CEO of ITP Media Group, who expressed his pride in Gault&Millau UAE’s role in the flourishing culinary landscape of the nation.
“We are delighted to have established this as a special moment when we can come together to recognise, honour and celebrate world-class achievements,” he said.
The awards ceremony featured coveted accolades such as Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year, which was bestowed upon the establishment that attained the highest score throughout the year.
However, the highlight of the night was undoubtedly the announcement of the restaurants that achieved the distinguished “toque” status.
Restaurants with a score surpassing 13 out of 20 were honored with one, two, three, or four toques.
Among the evening’s attendees, three restaurants were privileged to receive the prestigious honour of four toques, a testament to their exceptional culinary excellence.
Guests at the gala were treated to an exclusive and meticulously curated six-course tasting menu, accompanied by a selection of exquisite wines.
The event was made possible through the support of esteemed partners such as Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, BE WTR, Country Hill, Kaviari, Perrier-Jouet, Rougie, Valrhona, Wisk, Chef Middle East, and Maison Amarella.
