His interpersonal skills and knowledge of the healthcare world pushed him to pursue selling medical devices. At Gulf Medical, he quickly excelled, surpassing sales targets in Saudi Arabia. Bibi’s next position at Guidant Corporation gave him a comprehensive education in cardiology equipment like stents, balloons, guidewires, pacemakers, and defibrillators.
These complex and life-saving devices gave Bibi new insight into how vital advanced medical technology is. His transition to W.L. Gore & Associates further emphasized this, as he was introduced to high-quality medical products used in vascular and endovascular surgeries.
Bibi’s career took him across the globe when he started working with Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech division. Expanding into Eastern Europe and Africa gave him a new perspective on his profession, especially when he saw how much he could improve healthcare access in emerging markets and low-income communities.
The logistical difficulty of getting high-tech equipment to these areas was one of the most significant challenges of Bibi’s career, but he did not let that stop him. He and his dedicated team would drive for seven to eight hours to reach doctors and healthcare professionals in remote areas. The mission to raise awareness about the availability and benefits of quality medical products was too critical to let the lack of transportation stop him.
Through this impressive work, Bibi has shaped symbiotic relationships with many governments throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. His leadership skills have impressed many people and will continue to aid his success in his upcoming endeavors.
Because of his hard work as the Division Vice President of EEMEA and Global Accounts, Bassem has won the EMEA Recognition Award for successful project completion across the region in 2022 and the EVP (Executive Vice President) Award for outstanding contribution to the base business strategic in 2021.
